Garda Summer Festivals: Concerts, Tours, and Cultural Events This Week

In these last days of July, the main events are guest-centered celebrations, festivals honoring patron saints with concerts, dancing evenings, and cultural meetings all around Garda and neighboring towns. – TODAY. At the Carrara Bottagisio park in Bardolino, at 9:00 PM, “Tra Equipe ’84 e Lucio Battisti”: an homage to the fabulous ’70s with Maurizio Vandelli in concert. Three days of festivities honoring guests in Pacengo, while in Pastrengo, celebrations are in favor of S. Gaetano. Musical and dance entertainments also take place in Marciaga with tastings of gastronomic specialties, as well as in Calmasino di Bardolino for the S. Anna festival. The 247th edition of the Fiera Montebaldina kicks off in Caprino (see the feature at the top of the page). Guided tours of the Beata Vergine del Soccorso church in Marciaga are scheduled at 5:30 PM, while in Piazza S. Nicolò in Assenza di Brenzone, there will be the “Walt Disney show”, a musical comedy in two acts by E. Rapisarda. In Alto Garda, in Piazza S. Anna in Arco, at 9:00 PM, a concert by Ceronte (baritone and harp), while in Lugana di Sirmione, an evening of music takes place. In Desenzano, the S. Maria Maddalena festival continues until Sunday (parish Duomo). Ron will perform in concert in Albisano. – TOMORROW. Guided tour at Caorsa in Affi at 5:00 PM of the S. Bartolomeo church; at Villa Giuliari in Albarè di Costermano, a theatrical performance of “Piccolo teatro”: “Alleluia brava gente”. In Cavaion, theater performances include “I balconi sul canalazzo” by Alfredo Testoni. At 9:00 PM, a concert by the South Ulster Youth Symphony Orchestra at the park in Garda, and in Albisano, a theatrical evening with “Operazione Calzamaglia” performed by the La Rumarola company from Garda (at the former elementary school). In Torri, a two-day festival dedicated to guests, while in Ferrara, a mountain choir evening will be held in the Santa Caterina church. Throughout the rest of Lake Garda: “Salsa brava” at the Pavese park in Torbole; an ethnic music concert in Arco; neighborhood celebrations in the De Gasperi district of Riva; a lively dance show in Malcesine in Piazza Statuto; a Bisse regatta in Gardone for the Bandiera del lago; an evening with Cantalago in Montichiari, and at the Castello of Desenzano, the concert “Italian Big Band Company-Jazz”. – SUNDAY. At the former library hall in Lazise, an opening of the Sandro Minio painting exhibition at 10:00 AM; musical performance by the choir “La Rocca” in Garda at 9:00 PM; a celebration of the Alpini in Albisano; and the gathering for the Baldo mountain huts circuit, scheduled at 9:00 AM at the Novezzina refuge in Ferrara. Celebrations for the guest day and Jubilee concert in Malcesine: at the parish church at 9:00 PM. The flag throwing group from Urna in Nago at 9:15 PM at Piazzale Casa della Comunità, and in Riva, in the inner courtyard of the Rocca, at 9:00 PM, a concert by the teachers of the Riva music festival. – MONDAY. At Villa Balladoro-De Beni in Pacengo, “Villa Concerts”: Verona Philharmonic Orchestra at 9:00 PM; at the S. Severo church in Bardolino, for the Jubilee concerts, at the same time, the Ensemble vocale Calixtinuus: Mirabilia. At Lido Campanello in Castelnuovo, a concert by the “Ottoni dell’Arena di Verona” group, while in Torri, at the castle park at 9:00 PM, an open-air movie screening of “Pokemon il film”. At the Arciducale park in Arco, at 9:00 PM, burrata tasting with Beto Hinoa.
