Verdi and Puccini Classics at Gardone Riviera for Cancer Research

Arie by Verdi and Puccini (and not only) for great lyric artists. The highly anticipated concert in support of the Associazione gardesana for the study and prevention of tumors will be held tomorrow evening at the Vittoriale Theatre in Gardone Riviera.

Concert and Performers

The star of the recital, titled «…e lucevan le stelle» («…and the stars were shining»), is the renowned tenor Kristjan Johannsson, one of the finest dramatic voices of our time. Alongside the Icelandic artist, soprano Danielle Streiff and baritone Antonio Salvadori will perform.

Instead of the previously announced Orchestra Virgilius, conducted by Giovanni Andreoli, the audience will listen to the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra of Volvograd, directed by maestro Eduard Serov.

Artistic Profile and Objectives

Endowed with a strong and vibrant vocality, Kristjan Johannsson is guest soloist at the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala Theatre, Vienna Staatsoper, and the Verona Arena. Worldwide, opera enthusiasts admire his interpretations of the Verdi and Puccini repertoire.

The concert is part of initiatives organized by the Associazione gardesana to raise awareness among the population and fund numerous activities related to study and research. Tickets (60,000 lire for the orchestra level and 30,000 for the balcony) are available at the Vittoriale box office (tel. 0365/296519) or at branches of the Banca Popolare di Verona.
