Nabucco Returns with Debut of Hugo De Ana at the Arena Stage
Tonight, starting at 9 p.m., the spectacular Nabucco will return, marking the first time the production brings in Argentine scenographer and costume designer Hugo De Ana to the Arena stage.
The performance will be conducted by Daniel Oren. The role of the protagonist will be played by Romanian-born baritone Alexandru Agache, making his Arena debut as Nabucco, while French soprano Sylvie Valayre confirms her role as Abigaille.
Cast and performances
Another seasonal debut features bass Roberto Scandiuzzi in the role of Zaccaria, with Nazzareno Antinori and Gloria Scalchi portraying Ismaele and Fenena.
The cast also includes Armando Caforio (High Priest of Belo), Luca Casalin (Abdallo), and Antonella Bertaggia (Anna).
The chorus, conducted by Armando Tasso, makes a vital contribution; choreography by Lino Privitera, lighting by Sergio Rossi.
Nabucco will be performed again on August 10, 13, 18, 24, 27, 29, and September 1.
