Salò Begins 65 Million Euro Reconstruction of Barbarano Bridge
The reconstruction work on the bridge over the creek in the frazione of Barbarano in Salò has commenced in recent days, with a projected cost of 65 million euros. This is a situation that has persisted for over a decade, since the bridge itself collapsed, causing significant damage to the local population.
Once completed, the interventions will alter the current situation by widening the narrow Barbarano footbridge. This project will also restore essential safety conditions.
The bridge will be constructed using laminated wood structures, while the pedestrian walkway will be separated from the roadway through the installation of so-called “dissuaders”. According to the public works councilor, Bernardo Berardinelli, the completion of the work is expected by next autumn.
