Polpenazze Wins Fifth Palio delle Botti in Padenghe del Garda
It was the team from Polpenazze, with a time of 9 minutes and 27 seconds, to win for the fifth time the Palio delle Botti held the other evening, Sunday, in Padenghe del Garda.
In second place, after three laps around the historic center towns, was Puegnago, already the holder of four editions, which will host the organization of the tenth edition next year, with a time of 10.05.
In third place was Soiano with 10.13, followed by Padenghe with 10.28, Moniga with 10.37, San Felice del Benaco with 11.10, and finally Manerba del Garda with 12.01.
Thousands of people crowded the city streets along the 700-meter course.
The event opened with a parade after the Polpenazze band, featuring a renaissance procession in historical costumes from Castiglione Olona, followed by the local folklore group “La Carata” from Polpenazze, and the seven participating teams.
Giancarlo Allegri, mayor of Padenghe, had the task of officially starting the competitive part precisely at 10:30 pm.
The crowds were also very large in the spaces reserved for the gastronomy, managed by the Alpini of the local section.
At the end, in D’Annunzio square, the traditional awards ceremony took place.

The mayor Allegri, the president of the Unione Sportiva G. B. Vighenzi Gianni Libardo, and Lions Club Valtenesi president Alberto Rigoni expressed their happiness with the outcome.
