Gardesano Hospital Gains New Specializations After Corneal Transplants

New specializations for the hospital in Desenzano. Following recent corneal transplants, it is now feasible to perform other major specialized procedures, such as the implantation of the bionic ear.

This situation demonstrates the continuous progress in the specialist development of the Gardesano hospital, which serves an average of 310,000 people, with a capacity of around one thousand beds spread across six satellite hospitals and just under 3,000 employees. Additionally, during the summer months, hundreds of thousands of tourists flock to the Garda shores.

Regional authorization and future prospects

The green light for the new specialization came recently from Regione Lombardia. It is among the very few operational centers in this field in Lombardy.
