August Cultural Events in Brescia Featuring Fichi d’India and Carmen Consoli
An August full of events to make the most of the holiday period is organized by the assessorato alla cultura: open-air cinema, theater, and music are illuminating via Paride, the park of the Bresciani library and Olga Visentini school, as well as the cultural pavilion of Perfosfati.
Among the artists featured in these various events, August has seen a real highlight with the arrival of two stars from the entertainment world. On Thursday at 9:30 PM in the municipal library park, the «Fichi d’India» will perform, the famous comedy duo raised in Zelig and quickly rising to fame on Mediaset networks and Rai as guests of Sanremo.
They will reprise their successful show «Amici Ahrarara», which has toured many theaters across Italy and even become a book featuring their jokes, now memorized by everyone.
After the comedy evening, the next event is music. Monday, August 28, at 9:30 PM at the end of via Paride downtown, the singer Carmen Consoli will perform as the godmother of the restored Cerea promenade.
She will perform songs she brought to Sanremo, along with some tracks from her latest album «Stato di necessità». It is also a happy moment for the Sicilian singer, celebrated by critics as «the last representative of female rock in Italy», and she is very busy this month with 19 scheduled dates on her tour.
The Fichi d’India and Carmen Consoli are invited through «One Nite organization», Radio Pico, and RadioViva, with tickets for both at a pre-sale price of 24,000 lire, available also at the branches of Fondazione Cariverona.
Summer events on via Paride
For other summer events in August, on via Paride as part of the «Musica in piazza» series, the Garlic Trio (ethno-rock), Giuliana Bergamasco Quartet (Neapolitan-ethnic Italian songs), Beppe Castellani (Italian standards), and Tempo Rei (Daria Toffali group funky) will perform over the next four Thursday evenings.
For open-air cinema in the Olga Visentini park, screenings will include «Under suspicion» (Saturday 12 and Sunday 13), «Erin Brockovich» (Monday 14 and Tuesday 15), and «Sognando l’Africa» (Saturday 19 and Sunday 20), all at 9 PM, postponed to the following Monday in case of bad weather.
Finally, after the Goldoni-style «Cameriera brillante» presented by Barcaccia of Roberto Puliero, on Friday the 25th, the company «La Bautta» will perform «Le morbinose», another play by the Venetian playwright, staged in the park behind the library at 9:15 PM (at Perfosfati in case of bad weather).
