Monza Circuit Revisions: Safety-Driven Changes for the F1 Grand Prix
The first and second chicanes have been rebuilt. Once again, the Monza circuit, included in the Formula One World Championship calendar, will present itself differently to the drivers who, in early September, will set off for the seventy-first edition of the Grand Prix on the outskirts of Milan.
Reasons for the modifications
Why? Safety requirements, explain the technicians and commentators closest to the racing world, for a track among the fastest in the entire Formula One circuit, which, after the latest work completed at the end of July, will no longer be the same.
The designer of the modifications
The mastermind behind the new look, if it can be called that, is Antonio Pancera, a 56-year-old topographic designer who has lived in Peschiera del Garda for many years.
It is he, a native of Arilicense, who drew on paper the two substantial modifications of the circuit, which have been heavily discussed and about which the specialized press has already extensively illustrated the technical features.
A veteran of Monza, it can be said, already responsible for projects revising the second Lesmo corner and the Curva Grande just a few months after the death of Ayrton Senna.
