Municipal Police Officers Boost Riva Patrols with Extra Support

Courteous, helpful, and very professional, but also uncompromising. There were two officers, but they worked as if they were four—two agents from Polizia municipale (Municipal Police) who, having come from the province of Viterbo, carried out duties in Riva in recent days.

Thanks to the “command institute”, which allows administrations to request “loaned” officers from other municipalities, the Riva municipal police were able to rely on the presence of a coordinator from Caprarica and an officer from Oriano sul Cimino.

The activities carried out by the officers

Truly incredible, as we noted, the volume of work performed by the two: they checked the beach, day and night, identified some dog owners, and issued fines to young people making noise along the lakeside well after midnight.

They fined scooters parked in prohibited areas, arranged for the removal of cars in via Lavino, checked the area of the ex Cattori and the nomads camping there, conducted nighttime patrols along via Pasina, fined two trucks, and caught three vehicles without insurance.

The commander’s comment

“They were truly valuable and effective,” comments Commander Maurizio Stella, “but they were also always kind and helpful to those in need.

For this reason, we received dozens of compliments from citizens. Of course, those fined were not so happy, but that’s how it goes.”
