Rivana Fireworks and Festivities Shine at Notte di Fiaba 2000
The first fireworks lit up the Rivana night just after 10 pm. Along the entire lakefront, on balconies, windows, and even rooftops, thousands of people (estimates vary, but no one dared to report fewer than twenty-five thousand attendees) enthusiastically witnessed the “Notte di Fiaba 2000”.
Results and Attractions of the Festival
If the number of spontaneous applause, which highlighted the spectators’ appreciation, can help gauge the success of the spectacular performance, we counted about a dozen instances, evenly distributed throughout the thirty minutes of light and color.
As always, the fireworks display represented the highlight of the event, but it would not be fair to forget, in the overall assessment of the celebration, the contribution of the so-called side attractions.
Especially appreciated was the performance, well integrated into the scenography inspired by the fairy tale of Peter Pan and Captain Hook, by the Spanish company «The Pirates», which delivered the most realistic interpretation of a buccaneers’ assault.
Continuation and Atmosphere of the Festival
The festivities continued in all the squares until late at night, with music and dancing to suit all tastes.
As usual, the traffic on Basso Sarca forced the emergency services to work overtime: from 6 pm onwards, along the access routes to Riva, driving speed would shame a slow snail.
But this is also part of the event, and people endured it with resigned stoicism.
Similarly, as is tradition, at the time of writing, long lines were beginning to form on the exit routes from Riva and Basso Sarca.
