Lazise Fashion Show Boosts Tourism and Autumn Shopping Destination

In the spirit of elegance with “Fashion under the Stars” at the Scaligero Castle. The event, which, weather permitting, will take place tomorrow at 9 p.m. inside the castle owned by the Counts Bernini, was presented during a press conference held at Ristorante da Oreste facing the port of the city. About a dozen professional models from Mimma Pecchini’s fashion show stage, one of the organizers of the Rome Fashion Week in Piazza di Spagna, will walk the runway to showcase the new Autumn-Winter 2000/2001 collections.

Results and objectives of the event

“The successful outcome of last year’s edition,” anticipated mayor Luca Sebastiano, “has generated enthusiasm and motivation among local tourism and commercial operators to re-establish Lazise as a summer and autumn fashion hub. An event already considered a flagship, as it’s the only one of its kind not only on the lakeshore.”

The same opinion comes from the tourism councilor, who views the event as a regular fixture to be maintained over time. “As a collective fashion show and a refined offering from all shops for a discerning audience,” clarified Flavio Tommasini, “it effectively becomes the thread connecting the goal of extending the tourist season with the expectations of shop owners with stores open even in autumn and winter.”

Participants and sponsorship

The promoters of the fashion show, which becomes a showcase of beauty and elegance for an entire town, are the Lakeside Business Association: hoteliers, merchants, and restaurant owners, with sponsorship from the tourism and cultural departments of the Province, the Chamber of Commerce, the Riviera degli Olivi Tourist Promotion Agency, the Municipality of Lazise, and with financial support from the three banks operating in the municipality (Banca Popolare di Vicenza, Cariverona, and Banca Popolare di Verona – Banco S. Geminiano e S.Prospero), Body Spring, and Quadrante clothing from Bussolengo.

“An initiative intelligently aimed,” highlighted Fernando Morando from the Chamber Council, “to turn a historic town center into a potential competitor to shopping malls, combining entertainment, tranquility, and lakeside views with shopping.”

Importance and sustainability

It is indeed a very important event, “not only for the lake and the province,” said the provincial tourism assessor Davide Bendinelli. “Which benefits the Lake Garda project year-round,” echoed Enrico Meranda, president of Apt, “thanks to operators capable of systematizing efforts.”

A compliment, rightly, was also extended by the mayor to Fanny Carrara, the coordinator who has long been committed to giving proper depth to the initiative, which is directed by a sector professional, Milanese Roberto Rollo, with journalist Giuditta Bolognesi as the presenter.
