Athos Faccincani Exhibition at Castello Scaligero Highlights Garda’s Colors
The strong and warm colors of Garda and the Riviera degli Olivi are reflected in the recent paintings by Athos Faccincani. Having returned to Garda after the significant public success at the exhibition in Munich, the artist offers the Castello scaligero an exciting appointment “with the creativity, art, and culture of our time”.
The opening of the exhibition, which runs until September 24, is scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m. A native of Peschiera, the very young Faccincani attended the studio of master Pio Semeghini during the 1963/64 biennium, then increasingly frequented the Venetian studios of Novati, Gamba, and Seibizzi. At the same time, in Brescia, he met Ottorino Garosio and Angelo Fiessi.
Biography and Artistic Style
After completing his studies in 1970, he dedicated himself to equestrianism with great enthusiasm and simultaneously to painting, fraternally assisted by Nantas Salvalaggio. “I gradually learned to look at things and events with increasing serenity and joy,” explains Faccincani. “And I moved increasingly toward a simple painting that aims to be even more immediate in its relationship with the viewer of the painting.”
And the colors of the artist’s now well-established painting (countless exhibitions, especially in the United States and Europe) “are those that can be enjoyed every day; during the season, greens turn into yellows, reds then whites. The important thing,” he says, “is to observe”.
