Sixth Edition of Gardesana-Verona Book Fair Promotes Local History and Traditions
It had been missing for three years, and its absence was particularly felt by lovers of books and small publishers. We are talking about the event of the Gardesana and Verona publishing scene, now in its sixth edition, organized by the cultural association named after the pharmacist-scientist Francesco Fontana.
Unfortunately, the edition is limited due to the lack of suitable spaces, and given the impracticality of the historic Custom House, it will be hosted from Saturday the 9th to Sunday the 17th in the hall of the former municipal library.
Themes and Activities of the Event
Nevertheless, this event is mainly aimed at those attracted to books that delve deeply into history, folklore, and local traditions through meticulous research, offering the opportunity to explore topics that would otherwise remain unknown or easily forgotten by collective memory.
Nine days of a mini book fair with two key events held at the «Fontana places» and the presentation of three volumes.
Main Events
The first on Sunday the 10th in Palù dei Mori, with a guided tour (10:00 AM) of the complex formerly owned by the Spolverini, and the presentation of the book «Lazise: historical-scientific studies» by Francesco Fontana, published by the association bearing his name.
