When it comes to the football transfer market in Romania, it’s taken seriously: due to financial difficulties, in the summer of ’98 several players were bought not with checks but through “barter”. An example is Robert Nita, 21 years old, who moved from Corvinul Hunedoara to Cimentul Fieni in exchange for two tons of cement, valued at five million lire.
