Francesco Gonzaga School Advances Auditorium Project and Expansion

At the end of the month, we will be able to convene the parents and show them the preliminary project for the auditorium that the institute will be equipped with. It is the spokesperson for Public Education, Giuseppe Bertoli, to communicate the latest updates regarding the Francesco Gonzaga, a state high school with sections for scientific, classical, and accounting lyceums.

Progress and ongoing works

So far, work has begun on creating some classrooms within the auditorium hall, which, barring unforeseen events, will last about a month. This is a first step towards solving the serious space issue that has arisen in recent years with the establishment of the Itc, which has necessitated structural intervention on a school complex that is only a few years old.

The issue had caused discontent among students, who were forced into ill-suited environments to cope with the ongoing expansion of the institution, to the point that protests were organized. “By September, the preliminary project for the new auditorium at the rear of the school will be ready, and in November, it will become executive” – explains Bertoli -.

These timelines must be respected to secure the region’s contribution in 2001, amounting to 600 million lire, to which will be added an equivalent amount from the Province and 300 million from the Municipality.” The funds will be used to build a structure behind the Francesco Gonzaga, which will be connected by a new road linking via Leonardo da Vinci with via Botteghino and will give a new identity to the lyceums and accounting school.

Future prospects and the role of the administration

“In the future, the auditorium could be completed with a building housing laboratories and classrooms, but this will require a further project and additional funds” – continues the assessor -.

I would also like to clarify that the role played by the municipal administration has gone well beyond its institutional duties, as the Municipality also advanced funds for the design of a school under Province jurisdiction”.

Thus, it is a time of major changes for the Francesco Gonzaga, which has also recently appointed a new principal, Serafino Massoni, a former school director from viale Maifreni.
