Castiglione Strengthens International Ties with Monteprandone and France

Today, two coaches from Castiglione will be in the Marche town of Monteprandone, located a few kilometers from San Benedetto del Tronto, for the signing of the twinning agreement between the two municipalities. The ceremony was already held in Castiglione on June 17th during the Aloysian celebrations, and now the visit is reciprocated with a delegation led by Mayor Sigurtà and the Culture Councillor, Giuseppe Bertoli.

The patronal festival of Monteprandone is indeed approaching: on November 28th, San Giacomo della Marca is commemorated, canonized alongside San Luigi Gonzaga in 1726. The twinning thus stems from a cultural and religious affinity, as well as the friendship that has linked the two centers for years.

Other international initiatives by the people of Castiglione

Meanwhile, another group of Castiglione residents is heading to Berentin, in northern France, where, in the twinned town, an Italian week is taking place, featuring an event at the recently restored theater. In this case, the performers will include dancers from the Città di Castiglione dance school.

This aims to strengthen the bond with the region of Normandy, which, as repeatedly acknowledged by the coordinator of the Twinning Group, Rossano Zilia, is somewhat challenging, especially considering the geographical distance from Alto Mantovano. It is worth noting that the third officially linked location to Castiglione is the German town of Leutkirch.
