Gardesana Occidentale Traffic in Maderno Uninterrupted Aside from One-Hour Closure

It was only a hypothesis that did not materialize—the closure of the Gardesana Occidentale in Maderno for safety reasons. Contrary to what was reported in yesterday’s news, traffic on the coastal road has therefore never been interrupted, except for one hour yesterday morning at 6:30 a.m., which was the time needed to remove debris from the roadway caused by a minor landslide in Cecina, located between Gargnano and Maderno. Once the bulk of the debris was cleared, traffic resumed in alternating one-way flows until the cleaning operation was completed. It is certain, however, that there is a scheduled time-based closure of the Gardesana Occidentale (from January 12 to February 11) for safety work related to the rock face that collapsed in Maderno on November 21.
