Verona and Lake Garda Tourism Promotion for 2001: Year-Round Strategy

The new 2001 promotional plan is taking on clearer contours, with the project “Verona and Lake Garda – Holidays All Year Round” gaining a new temporal dimension, now referring not only to the autumn-winter-spring season but to the entire calendar year of 2001.

Building on the success of the previous five editions, the project reaffirms itself as the primary moment for Verona’s tourism promotion, involving all institutional and economic entities within the province.

The extensive and diverse activity plan is promoted by the Provincia di VeronaAssessorato al Turismo, in collaboration with the two Tourism Promotion Agencies, respectively for Lake Garda “Riviera degli Olivi” and the city of Verona, along with the cooperation of local public entities in Verona.

Objectives and Promotional Activities

The goal is to promote the wide range of opportunities offered by the Verona area’s tourism sector, highlighting both its unique qualities and the potential for synergy in creating a comprehensive tourism product that makes this territory an ideal place for “holidays all year round”: from seaside and sports tourism on the lake to artistic and cultural attractions of the city enriched by major events, from local culture and folklore to the renowned wine and food scene showcasing typical products from the Verona and Garda regions—all complemented by the quality of hospitality and services offered to tourists.

The actions outlined in the plan are primarily aimed at promoting individual tourism through participation in tourist trade fairs and the organization of promotional weeks at shopping centers.

These activities, conducted widely across the main catchment areas, allow for a high number of direct contacts with potential tourists and help foster loyalty among existing clientele.

Regarding organized tourism, initiatives are planned to support the destination in collaboration with Tour Operators, particularly targeting the United Kingdom market, where this form of tourism is most prevalent.
