Azienda Garda Uno Proposes Headquarters Purchase and Regional Initiatives

On Wednesday, the general assembly of Azienda speciale consorzio Garda Uno will be held at the Portese headquarters. This organization manages wastewater treatment for Lake Garda, funneling sewage from various localities into the plant in Peschiera. It also handles urban waste collection and beach cleaning.

The agenda includes the purchase of a new headquarters, currently the Banca di credito cooperativo del Garda in Padenghe, and the presentation of the draft statute for transforming the company into a joint-stock company.

Discussion of initiatives and proposals

Following the presentation of the 2001 preliminary financial statement, which totals around 36 billion lira, the member-mayors will be presented with a proposal for a memorandum of understanding with Gardesana servizi (Veronese shore) to identify a transregional territorial framework, based on the Galli law.

The assembly will consider the request for membership submitted by Pia Opera S. Angela Merici in Desenzano. After the municipalities of the western riviera and the Province of Brescia— which currently does not benefit from any services— this would be the 21st organization to join.

Last point on the agenda

To be examined: the authorization granted to Guido Maruelli, the president, and the board of directors for the development strategy mandate of the company, through agreements with similar entities and structures. This includes purchasing shares or establishing new companies from scratch, always within the field of local public services.
