Calcinato Launches Night Security Service with Fidelitas Partnership
Recently, reports of property crimes filed at the Carabinieri station in Calcinato, along with numerous pieces of information gathered in town, have led the Comune’s Security Observatory to propose a new service, which is now in effect as of today.
Established last year by the Administration led by Mayor Pierangelo Crottogini, the Security Observatory aims to ensure increasingly widespread vigilance, especially during nighttime hours. The goal is prevention.
“The Security Observatory’s task,” emphasizes Mayor Crottogini, “is to monitor the trend of criminal incidents and identify the most significant interventions to better coordinate available resources. Therefore, the Administration has decided, to enhance safety and tranquility for residents, to sign an agreement with the Fidelitas Private Security Institute for a service that includes preventative activities against crime.”
Launch of the new security service
The service will begin today: “The agreement with Fidelitas,” the Calcinato mayor further explains, “includes a six-month experimental period. The aim of the service is to guarantee public order through surveillance of citizens’ assets and property.”
Agents from the institute will be present in Calcinato territory for 5 hours each night, a schedule specifically designed to respond effectively to the needs related to territoriality and the particular issues identified in various high-risk areas.” The service will be provided seven days a week by security guards with vehicles connected via radio to the operational center, “and they will be dedicated exclusively to our Municipality,” adds Crottogini.
Thanks to the work of the Security Observatory and in agreement with Fidelitas, the Administration has set some main objectives to plan inspections in the most at-risk locations.
The project presented by Crottogini also foresees the possibility of extending surveillance cooperation to private citizens through special agreements.
“Citizens who participate in the initiative,” the mayor reports, “will be able to contact directly or call the security company’s operational center to report alarms, attempted thefts, suspicious episodes, and thus receive prompt intervention from an operator.” The Security Institute will cooperate closely with the Carabinieri (those in Calcinato are part of the Desenzano company) and with the local police.
In the coming days, the initiative will be presented to the community during a series of meetings, in order to address any requests from families and businesses interested in utilizing private security services.
