Arco Revives Iconic Rainbow-Fountain with Modern Restoration Efforts

In the evening, the circular fountain on viale delle Palme will return with the spectacular colors of the rainbow, which was once among the most popular attractions in Arco’s tourist promotion alongside the nearby Casino. The large basin, decorated with a flowerbed bearing the symbol of the city, proved to be an unexpected attraction when, a few decades ago, its jets of water illuminated after sunset according to the various shades of the rainbow. At the time, it was unique, at least in the area, and the success was significant. Over the years, however, the colors became a routine, an everyday occurrence that gradually diminished interest. Meanwhile, the water pipes rusted, and the electrical system failed, leaving only a memory of the colorful fountain on the slides of the Azienda di Promozione Turistica (APT) brochure. Now, the local government has decided to restore the rainbow among the jets of the basin once again.

Restoration and Redevelopment Interventions

Councilor Stefano Bresciani allocated approximately 100 million lire to replace pipes, electrical wires, and install a modern computerized system to regulate the emission of various colors.
