Desenzano Archaeology Encounters: Culture Topics at Palazzo del Turismo

In the Peler room of Palazzo Todeschini, in Desenzano, a series of “Archaeology Encounters” promoted by the Department of Culture of the Municipality begins tonight (Thursday, March 15). This is an important event following the presentation of the book on March 3, “The Civic Archaeological Museum Giovanni Rambotti, an Introduction to the Prehistory of Lake Garda”, edited by Professor De Marinis, an honorary curator at the museum. The archaeology encounters will be divided into four appointments, which this year the Municipality decided to hold at the Palazzo del Turismo instead of the usual library venue, and in the evening – at 9 pm – to allow greater accessibility.

News and Topics of the Encounters

“Another novelty this year” – explains the Culture Department councillor Emanuele Giustachcini – lies precisely in the choice of topics covered. We have favored unusual themes and aspects that can be more engaging and captivating for the audience, a different and dynamic way of promoting culture.

Let’s see which topics will be discussed: today, March 15, Dr. Da Vos from the University of Trento will speak on “Public Life, Private Life in Pompeii”. Thursday, March 22, Dr. Betti from the University of Milan will address “Games and Spectacles of Ancient Rome”. Thursday, March 29, this time at the civic library located at via Anelli 3/G, Dr. Gagetti from the University of Milan will discuss “Women in Rome: Clothing and Jewelry”.

Finally, on Friday, April 6, at 6:30 pm, Carla Boroni, a professor of Contemporary Literature at the Università Cattolica di Brescia, will close the series with the topic “The Pleasures of Roman Cuisine”. The cycle of conferences will be presented by the deputy mayor and Culture assessor Emanuele Giustacchini and Professor Raffaele De Marinis.
