Easter Boosts Lake Garda Tourism as Campgrounds Fill Up Quickly
Thanks to the good weather, Easter brought the first peak of the tourist season. A wave of vacationers flocked to the Prabi campgrounds, which are already fully booked this weekend. For latecomers, mostly Italians, there was nothing left but to divert to Linfano.
Thanks to them and the many foreign tourists who traveled south in search of sun, even the campgrounds overlooking the shores of Lake Garda have no free spots left. Austrians, Germans, and Italians, once leaving their cars, mounted their mountain bikes and headed out for mountain biking adventures in the high-altitude terrains of Garda.
Many others, instead, set out to conquer the renowned Arco cliffs. The Easter tourism is composed of at least half, if not more, of faithful visitors, those who have been coming to Arco for several years now. The rest is made up of “novices” who, as operators often say, are often captivated by the Mediterranean climate, and tend to return mainly in summer or during the next Easter.
Expansions and Construction Work at the Campgrounds
To meet the demands of increasingly discerning guests, Amsa is renovating and expanding its Prabi campground. The work involves, among other things, the bungalows. The old ones, after several decades of service, have been replaced by more welcoming wooden prefab cottages.
Bookings have gone quickly. Another highly appreciated initiative by campers was the planting of numerous new trees, especially olives, in the green areas. Bad weather prevented the completion of about forty new pitches built in the Ravizza area, located to the south, which was recently purchased by Amsa.
Sports Facilities and Ongoing Work
Another issue caused by rain concerns the sports facilities next to the middle school. The school athletic track extended for dozens of meters into the campground, creating significant disruptions. Amsa, in agreement with the municipality and the school administration, is building a multi-purpose sports field on the land between the middle school and the campground.
The new facility will be used by students during school hours and by tourists in the summer. The Linfano campground managed by the municipal company has also undergone a “revitalization,” which could only do it good. Indeed, positive feedback has been quick to arrive.
