Castiglione’s New Technical Courses Boost Local Education and Industry

The university is expanding to Castiglione, participating in the development of Higher Technical Education and Training (IFTS) Courses. In recent days, at the Casa del Giovane, the project for the IFTS courses was officially presented during a conference attended by prominent representatives from the university, Confapi, local industries in Castiglione, and high schools.

The conference and the involved figures

The conference, moderated by David Beruffi, the former councilor who conceived this initiative, analyzed and emphasized the importance of this operation—Higher Technical Education and Training courses—which could represent the first step of the university’s arrival in Castiglione.

This “landing” will be carried out by the Università Cattolica di Piacenza e Cremona, in collaboration with the high schools of Castiglione, vocational institutes, local businesses, and the Municipality of Castiglione.

The courses and the involved entities

The courses, approved by the Regione Lombardia and the agencies responsible for granting grants at the European level, focus on logistics and intermodality and corporate administrative-financial techniques.

The Municipality of Castiglione, within the realm of professional training, has been awarded these two post-diploma training courses, which will likely attract students who have completed secondary school and those already integrated into the workforce.

Course organization

The courses will be conducted in collaboration with the Università Cattolica di Piacenza e Cremona, the high schools of Castiglione (Gonzaga, Vasari, and Casa del Giovane), and local companies, which will provide places for internships and employ their own staff as instructors.

Composed of 1,200 hours, with at least 30% in corporate internships and 50% taught directly by company employees, the courses will last for two semesters.

Location and further information

The Casa del Giovane of Castiglione delle Stiviere, located on Viale Maifreni, will serve as the reference point for the first of the two courses mentioned and will provide its premises for lesson locations.

For further information, the administration office of Casa del Giovane is available.
