Trento-Lake Garda Tunnel Reopening Set for June 21 Event
The removal of the final diaphragm of the new tunnel constructed by the Autonomous Province of Trento along the western shore of Lake Garda, between Limone and Riva del Garda, is scheduled for June 21.
It is expected that Franco Barberi (Director of the Civil Protection Agency), along with the presidents of the Autonomous Province of Trento Lorenzo Dellai and of Brescia Alberto Cavalli, will attend the event.
Reopening prospects and road links
This event bolsters hopes of reopening the tunnel as early as July, allowing for the resumption of direct road connections between the Lombardy side of the lake and Trentino.
Alongside the ceremony, the Riva del Garda Congress Palace will host a seminar on civil protection and federalism, titled «The Long March of the Regions Towards the Implementation of the New Civil Protection Legislation».
Seminar program
The event will feature a round table and three working sessions, the first scheduled for Thursday afternoon and the remaining three on Friday, June 22, with regional assessors and ministry officials in attendance.
