Lonato Collaborates with Brescia Wine Center to Support Winemakers
On June 15th, the collaboration agreement between the Comune di Lonato and the Centro vitivinicolo provinciale di Brescia became operational. The Lonato Trade Office will thus become a reference point for farmers, particularly winemakers seeking assistance and information.
“Oenology is an important sector for Lonato,” explains the Councillor for Production Activities and Agriculture, Paolo Marcoli. “Therefore, we deemed it necessary to establish collaboration with this specialized center.” Technical assistance will be managed by Dr. Marco Tonni, with the main contact still remaining at the Brescia office.
“In Lonato, interested parties will also be able to collect the weekly agro-meteorological bulletin at the Trade Office, containing updated information on weather forecasts, cultivation practices, plant health and infection control, and much more.” Those who wish can even receive it directly at home via fax.
The project will be presented in detail, publicly, to operators in the upcoming weeks at the Municipality, with the president of the Centro vitivinicolo.
Project on the Road of Brescia Wines
Continuing with the wine theme, it is also worth noting the interest of the Lonatese municipal administration in the creation of a “Road of Brescia Wines” project.
This route already gained significant momentum last week with an informational meeting in Desenzano, involving assessors from various Garda Brescia municipalities. The goal: to give substance to an association of Brescia wines from Garda, linking the promotion of the wines from individual wineries to the tourism interest of the Garda territory.
Provincial assessors in agriculture Mantelli and tourism Buffoli were also present at the meeting.
“The Road of Brescia Wines,” concludes Marcoli, “must become a thoughtful and smart enogastronomic route that involves both public entities and private stakeholders.”
