Restorations and interventions on monumental trees

We remind you that the hundred bersaglieri plane tree (so large that it hides many soldiers beneath its branches), which is 400 years old, has just been cloned. After a year of attempts, the students of the State Professional Institute for Agriculture and Environment of Isola della Scala managed to obtain two seedlings from branches taken from the giant tree and rooted in the soil near the school.

Attempts with other monumental trees in the Verona province have so far failed. These include the Quercus petraea oak of Tregnago, for which the Peri seedling nursery of the State Forestry Corps was involved, the Celtis australis pirlar in Corte Pietà (Sona), the Acer pseudoplatanus adaro in Erbezzo, and the Prunus mahaleb spin of Poiero in Velo.
