Sigurtà Park Introduces Eco-Friendly Transport and Extended Hours

There is an increase in environmentally-friendly vehicles capable of touring the Sigurtà Park, where until last year, entry by car was permitted. “In addition to two train cars that seat 80 and 40 people (the second will be added to the first next year) and which travel the seven kilometers of the Itinerario degli Incanti without stops, we now have available to visitors,” states one of the owners, Giuseppe Inga Sigurtà, “several electric golf carts, as well as three-wheeled wagons. There is also the possibility to rent bicycles, and during peak times, a parking lot near the park with a free shuttle bus service to the entrance is available.”

Changes and innovations in park access

What has changed compared to a few years ago, when visitors’ growing interest in an “ecological” enjoyment of the park was already evident, and we asked whether it was possible to use train cars? “Basically, the fact that now technology,” replies Inga Sigurtà, “has allowed us to overcome uneven terrain with more advanced means.”

Giuseppe Inga Sigurtà also emphasizes efforts to extend opening hours: “We believe it’s particularly enjoyable to visit the park after 6 pm, so we’ve extended opening until 9 pm, with the last entry at 8 pm.”

Services and activities within the park

Now, in the garden, visitors can also have picnics and organize parties and shows, in addition to purchasing drinks, sandwiches, ice creams, and snacks from the three kiosks. “Inside the park, adorned by Japanese koi fish in the ponds and lotus flowers, we’ve set up a gazebo in the central area,” explains Inga Sigurtà, “which can hold about 400 people and where the Vivaldi Academy Orchestra will perform on July 27.”

Special attention is also given to the website, which collected approximately 450,000 contacts in the past year. It allows visitors to make reservations, view a 360-degree panorama of the central zone, and consult a botanist. The website received an award from Parcmania as the best park.
