Desenzani Park and Carabinieri Barracks Projects Approved in Local Development
For several days now, excavators have been working to lay the foundation of the new carabinieri barracks. An infrastructure project awaited for about fifteen years, finally becoming a reality following an agreement between Rudiana Immobiliare, the Carabinieri, and the Ministry of the Interior.
The final steps were taken by the municipality, with an agreement guaranteeing the company in case the ministry does not take over the property and with the building permit issued. Rudiana will now construct the barracks within a couple of years, at a cost of nearly 10 billion lire, and then hand it over to the Carabinieri in exchange for an annual rent just under half a billion lire for six years, with the possibility of extension.
Interventions in the Desenzani area
Another project that has been discussed for years and started just a few days ago is the redevelopment of the Desenzani area. The initial phase involves an investment of 400 million lire and concerns agricultural work, entrusted to the Tenda Verde cooperative. Once the vegetation is planted, internal footpaths and the access road from Viale Boschetti will be built, according to the project pending approval by the Superintendence.
An additional 500 million lire is allocated in the budget for a second phase of work, which will follow the green area redevelopment, as confirmed by the head of Public Works, Innocente Sereni. “Our idea is to create Italian-style gardens in the area adjacent to Viale Boschetti,” explains the councilor. “An automatic irrigation system and lighting will be installed.”
In this way, the area could also be used for public events during summer evenings. The Desenzani park project can be viewed at the municipality.
