Staffolo Neighborhood Traffic, Safety Improvements, and Community Projects
Some concerns remain, but most of the problems in the Staffolo neighborhood have been resolved. In this way, the district management, led by Counselor Giuliano Dallamano and Secretary Vincenzo Beschi, reviews the work done for the residents living between the provincial road to Carpenedolo and the former state road leading to Mantova.
One of the major issues was the transit of heavy vehicles to and from the gravel pits: large trucks passing through the residential area. For several months, traffic bans have been imposed on trucks, which now take alternative routes.
Changes in Traffic and Safety
“The problem seems to be solved,” say the members of the management board, “but if anyone still notices unauthorized heavy vehicles, they can report them to the municipal police.” Then, the bus terminal area has been modified based on reports from the administration, enlarging Pisacane street and adding a sidewalk on the built-up side.
Furthermore, the new version of the bus station, with a parking area on the north lane of the former Goitese, will prevent the installation of an additional traffic light.
Regarding neighborhood safety, thanks to an agreement between the district management and the Carabinieri, residents can report suspicious activities to Counselor Dallamano, who will relay the information to the military.
Citizen Participation and Future Projects
“We are committed to addressing the issues raised by the Staffolo community,” emphasize the representatives. “No one has a magic wand, but some needs have been accepted by the municipality. Anyone with suggestions or complaints can refer to the management board.”
Regarding the multi-purpose hall repeatedly requested by the neighborhood, Councillor Angelo Tagliani, a resident of Staffolo, states: “We will equip a green area on via Fermi —” he explains — “In that space, a facility for the community could be built. This area has never been neglected by our administration.”
