Lake Garda Scammers Pose as Police Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs around Lake Garda’s mid and high areas, offering magazine subscriptions from the Army.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who, after taking the money, disappears.
