Scam Alert: Impersonators Posing as Carabinieri Seek Lake Garda Vendors

They impersonate carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs of Lake Garda’s middle and upper areas, offering magazine subscriptions from the Carabinieri.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police force, firefighters, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who, after receiving payment, disappear.
