Garda Scammers Impersonate Police for Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restauranteurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, firefighters, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to respond

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting money, disappear.
