They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs around Lake Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not real military personnel, but scam artists who, from time to time, claim to be members of the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri—simply dial 112—at the first suspicion of being targeted by individuals who, after receiving the money, disappear.
