Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions from the Carabinieri.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to respond

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking the money, disappear without a trace.
