Garda Area Scammers Impersonate Police for Fraudous Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restauranteurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

So, be careful and immediately notify the genuine carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
after taking the money, disappear without a trace.
