Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda Calls to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigades, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking the money, disappear.
