Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Trick Lake Garda Businesses

They pose as carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs around Lake Garda’s middle and upper areas, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not actual military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
