Scammers Impersonate Authorities in Garda Area: Beware and Report

The suspects are pretending to be carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions from the Carabinieri.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
