Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be carabinieri, these individuals call hotel owners, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, at different times, claim to be part of the financial police, police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after obtaining the money, disappear.
