Scammers Impersonate Police to Cnab Subscriptions in Garda Area

They impersonate carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Arma magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the urban police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the genuine carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear.
