Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Promote Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to Arma magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigades, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to respond

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear.
