Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area Phone Calls

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing magazine subscriptions related to the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

So beware and immediately alert the Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after getting the money, disappear.
