Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Calls for Fake Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, craftsmen, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

after obtaining the money, disappears without a trace.
