Garda Region Scam Alert: Avoid Fake Police Calls Offering Magazine Subscriptions

They are posing as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda region, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

So be cautious and immediately report to the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking your money, disappear.
