Scammers Pretend to Be Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the army.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams and How to React

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

So be careful and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, after getting the money, disappears.
