Fraudsters Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the army.

They are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

So be careful and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after obtaining the money, disappear.
