Scammers Faking Carabinieri Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions in Garda

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, firefighters, or local municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving the money, disappear.
