Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not soldiers, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be careful and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving the money, disappear.
