Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Fraudulently Offer Magazine Subscriptions
They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.
They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.
How to recognize scams and how to react
They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.
So, be careful and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, after obtaining the money, disappears.
